The night started out quiet. The bank alarm was silent, and the heavy security doors were locked at 8:00 PM. Inside, the security guard was at his post, but he made a mistake: he fell asleep.
Suddenly, at exactly 10:00 PM, the bank alarm went off with a loud, piercing scream. The thieves cut the power lines, and all the lights went off. In the darkness, they broke into the safe and stole the money bag.
A witness outside saw a getaway car speeding away. The driver was a man wearing a black hat. Minutes later, the police arrived and found the security guard tied up in the basement.
The suspects are now at the station. Detective, it’s time to look at the evidence and start the interrogation!
Phase 1 🚨 Confirming the Facts
Before we dive into the deep secrets, a good detective always starts by confirming the basic facts. To do this, we use closed questions with Was and Were. These questions only require a quick confirmation: Yes or No.
