How Old Are You? & What’s Your Phone Number? 🎂📱

¡Tercera sesión! Hoy aprenderemos a preguntar la edad de nuestros amigos y a intercambiar números de teléfono como unos expertos.

Level 1

Read & Answer 💬

Lee el siguiente diálogo entre Alex y Mateo prestando atención a cómo se saludan, se presentan y comparten su edad y teléfono:

Alex: Hi! What’s your name?
Mateo: Hello! My name is Mateo. What’s yours?
Alex: I’m Alex. Nice to meet you, Mateo!
Mateo: Nice to meet you too! Where are you from?
Alex: I’m from Canada. And you?
Mateo: I’m from Venezuela! How old are you, Alex?
Alex: I’m 11 years old. What about you?
Mateo: I’m 12! What’s your telephone number?
Alex: It’s 0414 – 578 – 9623. What’s yours?
Mateo: It’s 0412 – 779 – 5436.

Para decir tu edad y dictar tu número de teléfono, practiquemos cómo se escriben y leen los números del 0 al 20:

0 ➔ Zero / Oh
1 ➔ One
2 ➔ Two
3 ➔ Three
4 ➔ Four
5 ➔ Five
6 ➔ Six
7 ➔ Seven
8 ➔ Eight
9 ➔ Nine
10 ➔ Ten
11 ➔ Eleven

⚡ Communicate Hack: The «Oh» Hack for Zero!

Aunque el número 0 se llama Zero, cuando dictamos un número de teléfono casi todos dicen «OH» /oʊ/ (como la letra O).
👉 Ejemplo: 0412 ➔ «Oh – four – one – two».

How Old Are You? (The Age Rule) 🎂

En español decimos «Yo tengo 11 años», ¡pero en inglés la edad NO SE TIENE! En inglés la edad SE ES con el verbo TO BE.

💬 Conversation Formula:

• Question: How old are you? 🤔
• Answer: I am 11 years old. / I’m 11.

⚡ Communicate Hack: Don’t Say «I Have»!

Nunca digas ❌ «I have 11 years».
La regla de oro para hablar de tu edad es usar To Be:
👉 I am 11. / I’m 11 years old. 😃

Phone Numbers & Dictation Hacks 📱

Para pedir el número de un nuevo amigo o darle tu WhatsApp de forma clara, usa estas preguntas y trucos:

💬 Conversation Formula:

• Question: What’s your telephone number? / What’s your WhatsApp? 📱
• Answer: It’s 0414 – 578 – 9623. / My number is 0412 – 779 – 5436.

⚡ Communicate Hack: The Double Hack!

1️⃣ Double Trick: Si ves dos números iguales seguidos, usa la palabra «DOUBLE»:
👉 Ejemplo: 77 ➔ «double seven» | 55 ➔ «double five».
2️⃣ One by One: Dicta siempre los números número por número para que te entiendan super claro.
