Finding Your Path
A Reading Resource for Young Leaders
Choosing a career is perhaps the most difficult challenge for a teenager. While some students think that Medicine is the best option because it helps people, others believe that Petrochemical Engineering is more interesting than health sciences because it deals with energy and technology.
For example, a student interested in Odontology might find that specialized clinics are more comfortable than large hospitals. However, someone looking for the most exciting job might prefer Criminology, which can be more unpredictable than a regular office job.
Is university harder than high school? Most graduates say yes. They argue that the workload is heavier than what they are used to, but the rewards are greater.
In the end, the most important thing is not finding the easiest career, but the one that makes you more persistent and more successful as a leader in your community.
